Why Cut & Print Magazine Isn't On-line Right Away
Big thanks to Laura for letting us all know that the magazine is out. Nice job! You did a great job delivering the issue this month!
So yes, the new issue is out on the streets of Nanaimo (and surrounding areas) and we’re again making waves with the new issue. People are responding positively to it, which is always a good thing.
Also for the record (for the same above person). As I’ve stated before and will continue to state until I’m blue in the face (which I don't mind). It’s not important for Cut & Print Magazine to be on-line right away. We don’t want people to read it on-line. We want people to go to places that support our magazine and pick up their own copy. We want people to pass it on to their friends.
This magazine is for people who are in Nanaimo, Duncan, Ladysmith, Parksville, Qualicum Beach and all the other places in between. It’s not for the on-line reader. It’s not for the reader in Spain or the guy in Vancouver. On-line is just a convenient way for people to look at back issues and the like, if they are interested. There’s a reason the cover says on the bottom, “visit cutandprint.ca for past issues.”
Our goal is to make the print magazine something to seek out, to read and to pass along. You don’t have to do that if you can just go on-line the moment it hits the presses and read it. That defeats the purpose of the entire project. It makes the print part redundant. Why don’t we just make it a completely on-line project and cut all the printing costs?
When we’re a national, glossy magazine, then being on-line right away will be crucial.
Or, like Laura said, don’t be cheap, buy a subscription and you’ll never miss an issue.
