Random Junk Wasting My Time!
So, some random movie junk to keep you busy. Where have I been you ask? What the hell has happened to all the movie reviews? I blame the Nintendo Wii.
I mean, that bloody little machine is probably the number one time waster these days.
People will blame my gambling addiction for my downward spiral, but as Laura will tell you, playing poker once a week is not a gambling addiction.
The Wii is quite possibly the coolest bit of tech to hit the video game market in years. Sure, you can enjoy your super duper Playstation 3 that will not only play videogames but allow you to whip up a batch of waffles while you play but the sheer interactivity of the Wii brings a whole new dimension to gaming. On top of that, there’s the Virtual Console. What exactly is the Virtual Console? Well… it is simply the crack that I like to call classic gaming.
In my youth, I did a lot of gaming but there were a lot of games that I wished I could play. Now, that is a reality. I’m a big fan of shooters and the Virtual Console offers a plethora of the classic shooting games. I’ve already beaten the original Legend of Zelda since downloading it on Christmas Day and Laura has rocket skated her way through Toe Jam & Earl twice already. Oh, classic gaming is indeed alive and well. Every Monday they release new games and every Monday, I’ll probably have to download one or two. The downfall of being a video game addict.
Speaking of the Wii, the main time waster is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Now, here’s a videogame that will keep you up at night. It might not be the prettiest game of all time, but that simply doesn’t matter. Great control, a huge interactive world, challenging dungeons and a wonderful sense of exploration make this the best game of 2006 and probably the best game of 2007. And yes, I’m including Guitar Hero 2, which in its own right is one hell of a game.
But enough on the gaming. How about the movie? What have I seen? Well, a whole lot of nothing.
I’m anxiously awaiting watching Dreamgirls but the limited release means no Dreamgirls fun here in Nanaimo. Not yet, at least. Rocky Balboa was all kinds of awesome for Rocky fans but you’d probably know that from the review I wrote over on the main site, www.cutandprint.ca - which was the first review in 6 weeks. Go Jake!
That’s all for now folks – see you when the temptation to lay down a couple of hundred words strikes again!

I'm just glad you're having fun with it. It was a good Christmas present for you.
And Toe Jam and Earl will always be one of the best games of all time. Ever.
The Wii is unbelievable. Good call brother. Gone is my social life, I will only address people as Mii's now.
